Friday, June 05, 2009 Mr. Samuel DeFalco age 68 of Calhoun, died Thursday evening at his residence following several months of declining health. Sam was in Detroit Michigan on Nov. 12, 1940 son of the late Gene Defalco and Vinanta Gabriel Defalco who survives him. He had lived in Calhoun since 1986 and was a member of the St.Clements Catholic Church. He was was formerly employed by OMC as Vice President of Manufacturing and retired from Coosa Valley Technical College where he was a teacher. He also was past president of the Chamber of Commerce in Calhoun. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother Joe DeFalco. Survivors include his wife Antionette DeFalco of Calhoun, his mother; Vincenta Gabriel DeFalco of Detroit, Mi., four children; Marlene Pyle and her husband Tony of Calhoun, Gino DeFalco and his wife Vicki of Calhoun, Gina DeFalco of Athens and Joe DeFalco and his wife Crystal of Cohutta, Ga. two brothers; Gene DeFalco and Paul DeFalco and his wife Pat all of Detroit, Michigan. Seven Grandchildren also survive. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday June 8th. from the St. Clements Catholic Church with Father Joe Shaute officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. On Sunday The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 2-4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday evening. The Knights of Columbus will serve as pallbearers. In addition to flowers the family requests contributions to St Clement’s Building fund or the American Cancer Society.
