Sammy Joe Tucker

Sammy Joe Tucker, Sr., age 65, of Chatsworth. Died Saturday morning December 31st at his residence. Sammy was born April 7, 1946 in Gordon County. Son of the late C.B. Tucker and Rachel Grizzle Tucker. He had worked in the textile industry prior to his retirement and was of the Methodist faith. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Towers Tucker in July 2000. Survivors include his daughter, Jill Krause and her husband Erik of Cartersville. One son, Sammy Joe Tucker, Jr. and his wife Latitia Whitener of Chatsworth. Nine grandchildren, Sydney Krause, Melissa Krause, Kimmie Krause, Sarah Krause, Christopher Tucker, Joseph Tucker, Avery Tucker, Briley Tucker and Corey Douthitt. Funeral services will be conducted Monday January 2nd at 11AM from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. James McBrayer, Rev. Jimmie Timms and Terry Timms officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include, Kenneth Bright, Johnny Davis, Doyal Couch, Doug Gallman, Billy Hayes, and Ragan Hayes.
