Sammy Joe Rogers, age 65 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Gordon Hospital.
Sammy was born on September 30, 1950 in Gordon County, son of the late Jimmy Roy Rogers and Nellie Thomas Rogers. He had spent most of his life in Gordon County and was a member of the Curryville Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons; Clint Rogers and his wife Christie of Sonoraville and Evan Jones and his wife Brittany of Rome, three daughters; Kimberly Delp and her husband Christopher of Plainville, Danielle Jackson of Calhoun and Christina Bowles and her husband Richard of Sonoraville, four sisters; Sandra Tinney and her husband Edward of Summerville, Rickie Smith and her husband Doug of Calhoun, Lucricia Young and her husband Charles of Calhoun and Tonya Rogers of Calhoun. Fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday May 21st at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Timms officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
