Thursday, August 19, 2010 Mrs. Ruth Everett Thompson age 93, formerly of Gordon County, died August 14 in Provo, Utah. Ruth was born in Erwin County Georgia on July 25, 1917. She was the daughter of the late Wesley Eugene Everett and Dora Brown Everett. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Albert Isaac Thompson, who died June 1, 2005 and a son, Roger Thompson who passed away on July 23rd of this year. Ruth was also preceded in death by four brothers; Henry, Jesse, Reginald, and Rex Everett, three sisters; Pearl Batty, Jean Goble, and Morrel Thompson. Mrs. Thompson had lived most of her early life in Gordon County. She had followed her husband's military career and had lived for 30 years in Aurora, Colorado. The last five years of her life were spent with her daughter in Moroni, Utah. Survivors include her daughter Joyce Ray and her husband Joseph of Moroni, Utah, a daughter-in-law Karen Thompson of The Woodlands, Texas, three grandchildren; Jonelle Larsen and her husband Kurt, Tommy Thompson and his wife Christine, Kim Mi Kuemin and her husband Robert, five great-grandchildren; William Boyce, Aemilia Thompson, Abigayle Thompson, Evan Kuemin, and Miles Kuemin. Funeral Services will be conducted at 5:00 P.M. Friday August 20 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Pallbearers include; Richard Goble, Roger Goble, Jan Goble, Scott Everett, Ronnie Everett, Don Everett, Terry Everett,Michael Batty, Bill Everett, and Bill Thompson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. on Friday August 20. You may sign the online register book at www.thomasfuneralhomecalhoun.com.
