Ruth Stewart

Monday, July 16, 2007 Mrs. Ruth Godfrey Stewart, age 78 of the Ranger Community died at 3:00 AM, Monday, July 16 at Gordon Health Care following an extended illness. Ruth was born in Gordon County, March 21, 1929, daughter of the late Charlie Godfrey and Willie “Lois” Baker Godfrey. She was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and a member of the East Gate Baptist church. She is survived by her husband, Joe B. Stewart and one son Joey D. Stewart both of Ranger, three grandchildren, Jason Crider, Tony Stewart, and Kristen Stewart all of Gordon county. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 18 at the East Gate Baptist church with the Reverends Jimmy Faith and Isaac Johns officiating. Burial will be in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers are Donnie Hudgins, Gary Knowles, Billy Stewart, Charles Godfrey, Rodney Rogers, and Jason Crider. They are asked to meet at the church at 1:45 PM Wednesday. The Stewart family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 9:00 PM Tuesday.
