Ruth K. Shellhorse

Ruth K. Shellhorse, age 86, of Fairmount. Died Saturday morning October 8th in Gordon Health Care. Ruth was born July 13, 1925 in Gordon County. Daughter of the late Robert "Bob" Kelly and Magnolia Hyde Kelly. She was a member of the Fairmount Church of Christ and besides her parents was preceded in death by two sisters, Madelyn Hendrix and Ovalene Taylor Pace. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, John Shellhorse of Fairmount. One son, Johnny Shellhorse. One daughter, Brenda Cina both of Calhoun. Two grandchildren, Shane Shellhorse and his wife Alisyn of Weatherford, OK., and Ben Cronon and his wife Brook of Orlando. Five great grandchildren, Merideth Counts Thigpen, Buddy Counts, Lane Shellhorse,Gracen Shellhorse, and Joe Cooper Cronon. One great- great grandson, Tripp Thigpen also survives. Funeral services will be conducted Monday October 10th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Dr. Ralph Wallin and Minister Kent Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery in Fairmount. Terry York will have charge of the music. Pallbearers serving include, Lamar Johnson, Larry Roger, Chris Johnson, Bob Penley, Paul Hawkins, Jerry Deboard, and Ray Buttrum . The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 until 8pm.
