Ruth Ellen Ormeroid

Ruth Ellen Ormeroid, age89, of Calhoun died in the early morning hour Wednesday August 24th 2011. Ruth Ellen was born August 17, 1922 in Gordon County. She was a member of the Pine Chapel United Methodist Church and was a volunteer at Gordon Hospital. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a bank teller at Wachovia Bank of Calhoun. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert M. (Bob) Ormeroid; a son, Fred Ormeroid; and a grandson, Andy Ormeroid. Survivors include her brother O.S. Brackett and his wife Sue of Resaca; grandson Chris Ormeroid and his wife Wendy of Calhoun. The family wishes to thank her caregivers Linda, Annette, and Karen. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 25 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Brian Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Phillips in charge of graveside rites. Pallbearers serving include Chris Ormeroid, Jerry Quinn, Marvin McBee, Jonathan Moss, and Richard Weekley. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, August 25 from 12 noon until the funeral hour.
