Ruth Anne McGarvey

Tuesday, February 10, 2009 Mrs. Ruth McGarvey, age 58, of Calhoun. Died Monday evening February 9th in the Heartland Hospice House in Cartersville. Ruth was born October 3, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio. Daughter of the late Louis Eugene and Katherine Kroger Moosbrugger. She and her husband had moved here from Cobb County in 2001 where she was an art teacher with the Cobb County School System. She was well known for her pottery and was an avid horse lover and past president of the Gordon County Saddle and Harness Club. Ruth was a member of the St. Clements Catholic Church. Besides her parents her brother Robert Moosbrugger preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Jim McGarvey of Calhoun. Two daughters, Katie Barkwell of Canton and Kerry Suit of Santa Fe, TN.. One brother, Eugene Moosbrugger of Dayton, Ohio. One sister, Mary Louise Toler of Ft. Pierce, FL.. Two grandchildren, Caroline Barkwell of Canton and Heston Suit of Santa Fe, TN. As well as a wide circle of friends. A Funeral Mass will be conducted Saturday February 14th at 12:30pm from St Clements Catholic Church. With Father Joe Shaute officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Dan Merritt, Boyd Parks, Craig Waldron, Jeff Toler, Jerry McGarvey, and John Toler. Following the committal services a reception to celebrate the life of Ruth McGarvey will be held at 2:30 at their residence. The family will receive Friday evening from 6 until 8pm with a scripture service to be conducted at 7pm.
