Mrs. Ruth White James, age 91, of Calhoun. Died Saturday morning August 2nd at 6:55AM in Gordon Health Care.
Mrs. James was born in Whitfield County, April 13, 1917. Daughter of the late Jim and Sallie Bolt White. She was a member of the Concord Baptist Church and had worked at several local carpet mills including Dixie Belle and Venture Carpets and retired from Georgia Textiles at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her husband, F.L. “Ponnie” James. One brother, Bill White and sisters, Jerri Harris, Maukee Shipman, Mary Nell Ogle, and Mary Elizabeth Pack.
Survivors include her nephew, Tony and his wife Cindy Brown. Her great-nephew, Richard and his wife Dana Brown. A great-niece, Adrienne and her husband Chad Brumlow. Great-Great-niece, Claudia Brumlow and Great-Great-Nephews,Hayden Brown,Will and Wyatt Brumlow all of Calhoun. Along with several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday August 4th at 11AM from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Marvin Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers severing include, Johnny Anderson, John Silvers, Russell Bryant, David Robinson, Mike King, and Terry Wilson.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening after 4PM at the funeral home.
