Ruth C. King

Saturday, October 17, 2009 Mrs. Ruth Chastain King, age 76 of Calhoun died at 10:45 AM, Saturday, October 17 in Gordon Hospital. Ruth was born, July 31, 1933 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Clarence E. Chastain and Lois Goss Chastain. Also, two brothers, Alfred and Herman Chastain, preceded her in death. She was a life time resident of Gordon County; was formerly employed by Optimum Technologies of Cartersville; and was a member of the West Union Baptist Church. Ruth is survived by one son, John A. King III and his wife Kim of Dumfries, Virginia; two sisters, Sue C. Rutledge and her husband Ernest of Resaca and Annie Brooks of Calhoun; two grandchildren Katie Nicole King and Kristen Allison King of Dumfries, Virginia. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 19 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Brooks and James Collins officiating. Larry Stone will have charge of music and burial will be in Fain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday at Thomas Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Jim Nesbitt, Eric Rutledge, Jimmy Dean, Jamin Dean, Jesse Kile, and Wayne Parker.
