Ruth E. Bryant, age 75 of Calhoun died Monday in Redmond Regional Medical Center of Rome.
Ruth was born in Jackson County, Alabama, January 28, 1934, daughter of the late Alfred Stanley and Florence Sanford Stanley. Also, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Bryant in 1991, and several brothers and sisters, German, Red, and Shortly Stanley, Dimple Wylie and Nellie Cudd. She had lived most of her life in Gordon County, loved gardening and music. She had attended the Meadowdale Baptist Church.
Ruth is survived by two sons, David Bryant, Doug Bryant and his wife, Sue Ellen; one sister, Florence Howard, four grandchildren, Christy Bryant, Colie Bryant, Sawyer Bryant, and Jake Bryant; and four great grandchildren all of Calhoun.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, March 11 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Dr. Stephen Pearson officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens. Musicians are Faye Bentley and Travis Stephens. Pallbearers are Jackie Burns, Mike Bagwell, Harold Brown, Tony Brown, Phillip Barnette, and Richard Hammontree. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 2:45 PM, Wednesday. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
