Ruby Wofford

Mrs. Ruby Chastain Wofford, age 87 of Calhoun died at 11:05 AM, Monday, August 24, 2009 in Cartersville Heights Nursing Home following an extended illness. Ruby was born in Bartow County, September 23, 1921, daughter of the late Hamby Chastain and Ollie Grace Vaughan. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Wofford, a son, Richard Wofford in 1993, one sister, Edna Moss, and four brothers, James, Earl, Max, and Elmer Chastain. She had been a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Union Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Jimmy Wofford; a brother in law, Alvin McEntyre, three sisters in law, Connie Chastain, Betty Jo Chastain of Cartersville, and Losie Goss of Calhoun. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 25 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Gary Hibberts officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM Tuesday a the funeral home Thomas Funeral Home has charge of arrangements for the services of Mrs. Ruby C. Wofford.
