Ruby Bennett, age 92 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at her residence.
Ruby was born on August 15, 1922 in Gordon County to the late Henry West and Lula Mealer West. Ruby was a former resident of Marietta and a consultant for Merle Norman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mell Rayble Bennett; daughter, Joanne Dillard; and two brothers, Max West and Ralph West.
She is survived by her longtime companion, Preston Bussey of Calhoun; son, Mike Bennett of Cartersville; two daughters, Nancy Batson of Decatur and Melva Cozby of Acworth; three brothers, C.A. West of Alabama, Billy West of Calhoun and Henry “Jr.” West, Jr. of Calhoun; four sisters, Pat Bradford, Frances Christian, Sue Gentry and Martha Craig all of Gordon County; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, February 6th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Gary Hibberts. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 11AM – 2PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
