Ruby Virginia Weir

Ruby Virginia Weir, age 97 of Dalton, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 in Morning Pointe Assisted Living of Calhoun. Ruby was born on February 1, 1920 in Ruth, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late John Rumfelt and Lula Freeman Rumfelt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis E. Weir. She was a member of Center Point Baptist Church of Dalton. Ruby is survived by her two daughters, Jean Carney and her husband Mac of Calhoun and Linda Weir of Macon; sister, Ruth Ruppe of North Carolina; granddaughter, Renee Carney Horton and her husband Reed; and three grandchildren, Zachary Horton, Josh Horton and his wife Meagan and Saige Horton. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 22nd at 12 PM from Center Point Baptist Church of Dalton with Reverend Matt Futch and Reverend George Ross officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Ruby will lie in state on Wednesday from 11 AM until the funeral hour at 12 PM at Center Point Baptist Church of Dalton.
