Sunday, September 22, 2007 Mrs. Ruby Parker Walraven, of the Oostanaula Community. Died Friday morning September 21st in Gordon Hospital. Mrs. Walraven was born in Murray County December 8, 1928. Daughter of the late Virgil and Jessie Brackett Parker. She was a long time member of the Oostanaula Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband Roy Lee Walraven in March 1982 as well as a brother, Claude Parker in 1962. She is survived by her children, Ronald Walraven and his wife Karen of Calhoun, Charlie Walraven and his wife Janice of Calhoun, Deborah and David Edmonds of Calhoun, Peggy Fulmer of Ringgold, James Walraven and his wife Janice of Calhoun, and Sandra Bailey of Calhoun. Brothers and Sisters, Irene Ward of Resaca, Ada Silvers of Key West, her twin sister Ruth Fox of Calhoun, Thelma “Pete” Schnitzspahan and her husband Chris of Key West and Calhoun, Gene Parker and his wife Debbie of Resaca, Johnny and Glennise Parker of Rome, Sue Bone of Calhoun, Avie Autry and her husband Troy of Rome, Kenneth Parker and his wife Paula of Calhoun. Grandchildren, Deron and Andrea Walraven, Jason Chambers, Russell Walraven, Kevin and Laura Walraven, Eric and Felicia Chambers, Jacob and Stephanie Walraven all of Calhoun, Thomas Walraven of Oklahoma, Joshua Walraven and his fiancé Jacqueline of Calhoun, Angela Bailey of Calhoun, Adam Fulmer of Ringgold, Hannah Fulmer of Ringgold, and Andrew Bailey of Calhoun. Six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday September 23rd at 3 PM from the Oostanaula Baptist Church. With Rev. Rick Langston and Rev. Lamar Bearden Officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Music will be arranged by Andrea Walraven and Adam Fulmer. All ten Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 4 until 9PM and on Sunday until 1:30 at which time Mrs. Walraven will be taken to the church to lie in state from 2PM until the funeral hour.
