Ruby Kathryn Black, age 92 of Calhoun and formerly of Chatsworth, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 4, 2018.
Ruby was born on June 19, 1925 in Gordon County to the late Ora Belle Pritchett. In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Edgbert Black; sons, Previs Black, Grethel Black and Hollis Black; son-in-law, Pat Young; and daughter-in-law, Linda Black. Ruby was a member of White Graves Baptist Church for over 70 years.
Ruby is survived by her two sons, Clarence Black of Calhoun, and Tony Black and his wife Robin of Calhoun; daughter, Charlotte Young of Chatsworth; brother, James Haynes and his wife Delia Mae of Ranger; sister-in-law, Mabel Correll of Ringgold; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 7th at 12:30 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend John Everett and Reverend A.J. Waters officiating. Amber Lee will have charge of music. Burial will follow in White Graves Baptist Church Cemetery with Kenneth Everett, Scott Haynes, Larry Black, Terry Black, and Ryan Childers serving as Pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 AM until the funeral hour at 12:30 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
