Roy L. Schand

Roy L. Schand, age 90 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at his residence. Roy was born on April 6, 1930 in Cleveland, OH, son of the late Louis Schanda and Anna Lustig Schanda. After retiring at age 53, Roy began writing an autobiography about his many adventures and exciting life. The book was published by his grandson, Chad, grandson, Garyn, is waiting for the movie debut. The title of the book is “Almost Over” and can be found at our public library. Roy is survived by his wife, Patricia Schand of Calhoun, GA; son, Craig Schand of Chattanooga, TN; two daughters, Caryn Sims and her husband Joel of Calhoun, GA, and Beth Brown of Fort Pierce, FL; six grandchildren, Garyn Sims and his wife Brooke, Chad Sims and his partner Angel, SFC Justin Schand and his wife Allen, Courtney Schand, Ashley Sanchez, and Lindsey Brown; and seven great-grandchildren, Lona Sims, Luke Sims, Mariella Sanchez, Ethan Schand, Colton Schand, Stryder Schand, and Arianna Marcelino.
