Roy Eugene Rogers

Roy Eugene Rogers, age 70 of Rome, GA, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Roy was born on March 13, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Virgil E. Rogers and Lillian Kyle Rogers. Roy was a member of the Millwright Local Union 1263 where he served as the apprenticeship director and instructor and was also an industrial contractor for over 25 years. He was an Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed watching the Lifetime channel and Discovery channel. Roy had a great sense of humor, loved life, and loved his garden.

Roy is survived by: two daughters, Melanie McHugh and her husband Larry and Melissa Kilcoyne and her husband Kevin; two brothers, Jimmy Rogers and his wife Faye and Bradley Rogers and his wife Audrey; one sister, Margaret Watson; five grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Skyler.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 4 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park.

Pallbearers serving include: Larry McHugh, Jerry Mulkey, Jason Harrison, Darell Harris, Lane Erwin, and Jeff Baxter.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 1, 2021 from 2 PM until the funeral hour at 4 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Roy may be made to the American Cancer Society.
