Roy Eugene Chastain

Roy Eugene Chastain, age 90 of Calhoun, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2015 at Gordon Health Care. Roy was born on February 21, 1925 in Gordon County to the late James Grady Chastain and Ruby Pearl Carlisle. He was a member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church, and was the owner of Robinson Auto Parts for many years. He served in the United States Army Air Corps, and was a Veteran of WWII. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Jean Tate Chastain; brother, Dennis Chastain; two sisters, Mary Jo Mogavero and Lucille Pitchford; and a son, Timothy Lloyd Chastain. Survivors include his two sons, Larry Chastain and his wife Lisa of Winder, and David Keith Chastain and his wife CheeChee of Toccoa, GA; one granddaughter, Amanda Grier and her husband Britton; and two great-grandchildren, Verity and Cassia Grier. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, January 7th at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. John Bledsoe officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery with Doug Roebuck in charge of committal services.
