Roy Lee Chapman

Roy Lee Chapman, age 66 of Calhoun, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at his residence. Roy was born on June 23, 1947 in Gordon County to the late Lee Otis Chapman and Mary Lou Poarch Chapman. Roy was a member of the Concord Baptist Church. He graduated from Calhoun High School, Class of 1966 where he held many school records and was an avid Yellow Jacket fan. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Chapman of Calhoun; one brother, Troy Chapman; one sister, Betty Balliew and her husband Bobby of Calhoun; two granddaughters, Sommer Quinn and Mercadies Jones; one niece and nephew also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, February 8th at 11:00am from Concord Baptist Church with the Reverend Sammy Allen, Reverend Denver Boling and Reverend Chandler Boling. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will be Matthew Chapman, Mitchell Chapman, Troy Chapman, Barry Robert, Bruce Henderson and Norman Pack. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Calhoun High School Class of 1966, cousins and Concord Baptist Church members. Roy will be taken to Concord Baptist Church where he will lie in state on Thursday evening at 5pm until the funeral hour on Saturday at 11:00am.
