Roxie Wilson Holland met her savior, Jesus Christ, face to face on August 13, 2017.
Roxie was born June 3rd, 1932 in Colquitt County GA to Harvey Wilson & Mary Catherine Williams Wilson. One of six sisters, Roxie lived most of her life in Calhoun GA and in December, 2014 relocated to Heritage Pointe Assisted Living in Cookeville TN to be near her daughter & son-in-law, Gail & Andy Thompson.
She was an active and long-time member of Salem Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and 5 sisters, Roxie was preceded in death by three children: Catherine Inez Holland, Roy Lee (R.L.) Holland, Jr., and Daniel Harvey Holland.
She is survived by three children: Edmond Holland & wife Sandra of Calhoun, Gail Thompson & husband Andy of Cookeville TN, and William Holland of Calhoun. Twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild also survive.
Having been blessed to see her son, R.L., receive one of the first life-saving liver transplants many years ago at Emory Hospital in Atlanta GA, Roxie made prior arrangements to have her body donated to benefit medical research.
A memorial service for Roxie will be held August 20, 2017 at 4 o'clock at Salem Baptist Church in Calhoun, GA. Her pastor, Dr. William Roberts, will officiate.
The Holland family will receive friends at Salem Baptist Church between 2 o'clock - 4 o'clock just prior to the service.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Dr. Kenneth Conner Senior Adult Sunday School Class at Salem Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Salem Baptist Cemetery Fund, 1501 McDaniel Station Rd. SW, Calhoun, GA 30701.
