Mrs. Rose Amos Walraven , age 87 , long time Curryville resident, died suddenly Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Gordon Hospital.
She was born in Pine Log, Bartow County, Ga. on March 30, 1919, daughter of the late Robert Franklin Amos and Annie Olivia Hughes Amos. During her lifetime she was homemaker, florist, caregiver and , loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Oostanaula Baptist Church and in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Walraven, two brothers; Miller Sylvester “Bud” Amos and Earnest Amos and four sisters; Ora Godfrey, Ruth Lynch, Evelyn Balliew and Lydia Esslinger.
Survivors include her sons, Dwight L. Walraven and his wife Beth Brown Walraven and Edwin R. Walraven and his wife Carol Weaver Walraven, three grandchildren; Kay Walraven Attaway and her husband Walter , Bobby Walraven, and Brett Walraven, several loving nieces and nephews and a special friend Dot Thomas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday March 6th. from the Oostanaula Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Langston officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include Bobby and Brett Walraven, Walter Attaway, David Rogers, Larry Cronon, Larry Washington and Morris King and they are asked to meet at the Oostanaula Baptist Church at 9:45 A.M. Tuesday.
On Tuesday the body will be carried to the Church to lie instate from 10:00 until the Funeral Hour.
The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday evening.
