Rosa Mae Patterson

Mrs. Rosa Ruddell Patterson, age 97, departed this life to be with the Lord on Monday November 21, 2011. Mrs. Patterson was born December 10, 1913 in Murray County, Georgia, daughter of the late William David and Cynthia Lucinda Dobson Ruddell. She spent most of her life in Gordon County and was a member of Echota Baptist Church. She was a retired textile worker, a devoted mother and grandmother. She was noted for her cooking, and in earlier years, her kitchen was a favorite gathering place for family, friends and neighbors. Other hobbies include: gardening and reading. Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her first husband William Heath, and her second husband Alton B. Patterson; daughter, Mary Health; granddaughter, Bonita Heath; sisters; Inez Chastain, Ioma Dilbeck, and Jewel Owen; brothers; Preston, Jim, Leslie, Thurston, and C.L. Ruddell. Survivors include; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Lila Heath of Bancroft, MI. Two daughters, Murves Clark and Marlene Pieskas, both of Calhoun, Georgia. Other survivors are; grandchildren, Kelly Heath, Patricia Lynn and Marc Heath of Michigan, Rhonda and Paul Haun of LaFayette, Celeste and Eric Martinez of Mercer Island, WA, Gina Davis of Chattanooga, TN, Kristi and Mike Swanson and Nikolas Pieskas of Calhoun. Eleven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00a.m. Saturday, November 26th from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Jeff Ruddell and Rev. Randy Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00p.m Friday, November 25th at the funeral home.
