Mr. Ronnie Glenn “Pole Cat” Miller age 67 of 709 Moore’s Ferry Rd, Plainville, died Saturday at his residence following several months of declining health.
Ronnie was born in Gordon County on Novermber 28th. 1940 son of Harry Glenn Miller and Lois Mae Reece Miller who survives him. He was a member of the Plainville United Methodist Church, was a retired truck driver for Shaw Industries with over 40 years service and has received an award for 8 million miles Safe Driving. He was an alumnus of Chamblee High School and played football there, was instrumental in North Delkalb Athletic Association, coached football there of which three played College football. He was active in the Plainville Recreation Program, and Coach football there, and also was one of the organizers of the Gordon Central Athletic Complex, Toys for Tots in 1960 by the U.S. Marines and was also active in the North Dekalb County Athletic Association.
Survivors include his mother Lois Miller of Decatur, Ga. his wife Pat Bowman Miller of Plainville, four sons; Andy Miller and his wife Stacie , Michael Miller and his wife Cindy all of Plainville, Kenny Miller and his wife Genia of Red Rud, and Jody Miller and his wife Misty of Plainville, one daughter; Staci Banks and her husband Bryan J . also of Plainville, two sisters; Janice Whitehead of Chamblee and Chris Dodd and her husband Phil of Albertville, Alabama, an uncle and his wife Jack and Rachel Miller of Plainville, Grandchildren; Josh Hughes, Justin Skidmore, Lori Skidmore, Glenn Miller, Maressa Miller, Hagan and Molly Banks and Alexus Payne, a special friend; Buddy Braden; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday August 5th. from the Salem Baptist Church with Rev.Wayne Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Scott Cemetery in Plainville.
Pallbearers serving include Kim King, Greg Tanner, Kenneth Stepp, Donald Webb, Steve Culpepper and Jack Jenkins and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday morning.
The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Monday evening.
