Ronald "Mike" Michael Payne

Tuesday, November 11, 2008 Mike Payne, age 55 of Calhoun died at 2:45 PM, Monday, November 10, 2008 at his residence. Mike was born June 21, 1953 in Copperhill, Tennessee, a son of the late Clinton L. Payne and Kittie Mae Ledford Payne, and he was preceded in death by one brother, Dooley Ledford. Mike was a loving father, grandfather, and faithful Christian. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was a member of the Crane Eater Community Church. Mike is survived by his wife, Nina Payne of Calhoun; father, Clinton L. Payne of Murphy, North Carolina; mother, Kittie Mae Teague of Acworth; one son, Micah Payne of Calhoun; brother in law, David Barnes of McDonough; sisters Donna Jean Stiles and her husband Grady of Acworth; Teresa Wagner and her husband, John of Kennesaw; and Paula Keener of Acworth; and one grandson, Jeremiah Payne of Calhoun. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 12 at the Crane Eater Community Church with the Reverends Howard Strickland and Tom Ham officiating. Donna Gay will have charge of music and burial will be in Crane Eater Cemetery. The Payne family will have received friends from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
