Ronald Wayne Amyx

Ronald Wayne Amyx, age 64 of Calhoun, GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2022 with his wife and daughters by his side.  

Ronald was born on March 17, 1958 in Kingsport, TN, son of the late Paul Junior Amyx and Nannie Mae Yeary Amyx. Known for his humor and generosity, Ronald was a beloved member of his family and community. Ronald pursued many interests in his life, from sports and trivia to musical theater, but the constant was his steadfast love for his family. 

Ronald is survived by: his wife, Patrice Brown Amyx of Calhoun, GA; three daughters, Emily Amyx Miller and her husband Brad of Blythewood, SC, Melissa Michele Amyx of Paris, France, and Alison Rathjen Amyx and her husband Reese of Colona, IL; three grandchildren, Chase Miller, Esther Miller, and Parker Rathjen Amyx; and two sisters, Patricia Winters and her husband Syd of Kingsport, TN and Sheila Parker and her husband Daniel of Kingsport, TN. Ronald was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Amyx.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Homespun Hospice and Advent Health Gordon Hospital, and especially Dr. Will Theus, for their compassionate and attentive care. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 4, 2022 from 3 PM until the funeral hour at 5 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 5 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Carll Converse and Randy Barron officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving are: Jamey Angland, Shawn Brown, Heath Duke, William Bryant, Barry Smith, and Bruce Potts.
