Roland Bryson

Roland Bryson, age 78 of Calhoun, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012 in Gordon Health Care. Roland was born on October 21, 1933 in Chattooga, GA. Son of the late Grady W. Bryson and Tiney Garrett Bryson. Roland was a member of the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown, NC, but has been a resident of Gordon County for 17 months. He served in the United States Navy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by; His wife, Leona Balser Bryson. One brother, Marvin Bryson. One sister, Vennie Knowles. Survivors include; Two brothers; William “Billy” Bryson and Grady “Jack” Bryson, Jr. One sister, Evelyn Jones. Special friends in his life were Ashley Motsinger, Rhonda (Sweetie Pie), "Grampa" to Snookie, and Poppa B to Spencer. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, May 11th at 2pm from the Chapel of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown, NC with the Dr. Bobby Roberson and Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville, NC. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the funeral hour at 2pm at the Gospel Light Church.
