Rogers Mathis

Geneva Rogers Mathis, age 70, of Dalton and formerly of Calhoun. Died Wednesday evening February 16th, in Hamilton Medical Center. Geneva was born October 6, 1940 in Gordon County. Daughter of the late Alvin and Esther Mae Brumlow Rogers. She was preceded in death by a son, Stevie Mathis and a sister, Lenela Woodson. Survivors include her son, Douglas Mathis of Dalton. One daughter, Lena Mathis of Dalton. A foster daughter, Sandra Ball of Dalton. A special niece, Diane Kenney and her husband Ralph of Dalton. A favorite aunt, Virginia Adcock of Calhoun. Two sisters; Margurite Bonds and her husband Chris and Jeanette Holbrook and her husband Gene all of Calhoun. One grandson, Jonathan Mathis of Dalton. Two great grandchildren; Shawn Mathis and Alina Mathis both of Dalton. A number of other nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday February 19th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Chris Bond officiating. Burial will follow in Blackwood Springs Cemetery.
