Roger Glenn Williams, age 63 of the Scottsville Community, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 11, 2017 at his residence.
He was born in Calhoun on November 14, 1953, son of the late Delmar Williams and Clara Tate Williams. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Terry Williams and his ex-wife Sylvia Clark.
Roger is survived by his cherished wife of 30 years; Melesa Williams. He also leaves behind his children, Aubry Williams and his wife Christina, Abranda Williams, Scott Williams and his wife Holly, and Ashley Williams. Six grandchildren; Carrie, Bradley, Wesley, Brilie, Madeline and Bryston. Three brothers; Ronnie, Wayne, and Mike Williams, and one sister; Debbie Poston also survives.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday August 12th at 5 p.m. from Salem Baptist Church of Calhoun with Roger’s personal friends Rev. Larry Hogan, Rev. Danny Hightower, and Rev. Randy Muse.
Pallbearers are his life-long friends, Jack Sanford, Tommy Whittle, Pete Whittle, Shane Sims, Jay Walters, and William Rickett. Honorary Pallbearers are Dale, Brent, Brandon, Alton, Bradley, and Wesley Williams.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour at 5 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church of Calhoun.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Roger’s memory to offset his final expenses.
