Rodolfo "Rudy" Ruiz

Friday, December 04, 2009 Mr. Rodolfo “Rudy” Hobgood Ruiz age 48 of Calhoun, died unexpectedly Thursday December 3rd. at his residence Rudy was born in Saint Louis , Missouri on Dec. 23, 1960 son of the late Carlos M. Ruiz and Lillian Louise Hobgood Cowart who survives him. He was a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Plainville, had spent most of his life in Gordon County and was very musically talented, playing the Clarinet and other instruments. He was a Charter Member of the “North West Georgia Winds”. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his step-father; Roy Cowart. In addition to his mother Louise, Rudy is survived by a special aunt, Juanita Hobgood of Calhoun, and a step-sister; Jenny Lindsey of Rome. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday December 6th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the Blackwood Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Greg Blalock, Donald Wood, Chad Johnfroe, Nathan Bryant, Therrell Goswick, Bo Nicholson and Randy Thomas. Honorary pallbearers serving include Shea Higgins, Kasey Greeson, Jennifer Bishop, Mary Quarels, Debbie Moore, Dodie Greeson, Ben Parker, Courtney Williams and Nancy Pratt and all these people are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 P.M.
