Robert Newton “Bobby” Winkle, Sr., age 59, of Silver Creek and formerly of Gordon County, passed away Saturday January 5th in Kindred Hospital.
Bobby was born June 10, 1959 in Dale County, Alabama, son of the late Vernon Gray Winkle and Jewel Williams Winkle. He was a member of the House of Prayer Baptist Church of Villanow and was a supervisor at the Rome News Tribune. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Joan Hall.
Survivors include his wife; Barbara Winkle of Silver Creek, one son; Robert N. Winkle, Jr., of Dallas, one daughter; Katherine Painter of St. Simon, Two brothers; Sonny Winkle and his wife Ty of Calhoun and Virgil Winkle of Chatsworth, three sisters; Paulette Westbrook of Galveston, Tx., Judy Green and her husband Chuck of Rome, and Bambi Johnson of Rome. Five Grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Chuck Green officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Thomas Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour of 2.
