Robert M. Fain

Robert “Rob” Fain, age 81 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at his residence. Rob was born on December 8, 1931 in Gordon County to the late Conway Fain and Odell Hall Fain. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Sue Fain in 1965. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Elsie Fain; one son, Robert D. Fain and his wife Miranda; three daughters, Shelia Smith and her husband Rusty, Sharon Baker and her husband Steve, and Wanda Ann Stewart and her husband Curtis; grandchildren, Misty Lackey and her husband Alan, April May and her husband Jeremy, Whitney Young and her husband Cory, Cody Baker, Preston Fain, Summer Smith, Barry Stewart and his wife Candace, Todd Stewart and his wife Christy, and Terry and Kristie Stewart; great-grandchildren, Briley and Lilly May, Will Young, Dawson, Sommer and Brady Lackey, Nicholas and MacKenzie Stewart, Aaron, Selah and Isabella Stewart, Dakota and Clark Stewart; three brothers, Thomas Fain and his wife Barbara, Frankie Fain and his wife Bobbie, and Ronald Fain; two sisters, Vivian Lovinggood and her husband Larry, and Joann Coggins and her husband Gether; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, Oct. 4th at 11:00am from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Maynard Thomas and Rev. Todd Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Chapel Cemetery. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Thomas Funeral Home.
