Robert Louis Bailey, age 78 of Calhoun died at 6:00 PM, Monday, January 5 in the Floyd Specialty Hospital of Rome.
Robert was born, June 17, 1930 in Floyd County son of the late Quincy Bailey and Viola Carter Bailey. He was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. He was retired from Diamond Carpet Mills and had attended the Concord Baptist Church.
Robert is survived by one son, Larry Bailey and his wife Helen of Calhoun; one daughter, Patsy Crocker and her husband, Billy Crocker of Calhoun; three brothers, T.J. “Dude” Bailey of Calhoun, C.F. Bailey of Whitfield County, and Kenneth Bailey of Calhoun; two sisters, Jeanette Barnette and Geraldine Worley both of Calhoun; three grandchildren, Tiffany Hooper Teesha Evans and her husband Shaun, and John Lee all of Calhoun; five great grandchildren, Whitney, Oakley, Carley, Tessey and Bryce; and three step-grandchildren, Mona Beal, Tina James, and Patty Hall all of Calhoun.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 8 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Pastors Steve and Tina Clements officiating. Burial will be in Chandler Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at the funeral home.
