Robbie “Bobbie” Chambers Whittemore, age 91, of Dalton and formerly of Calhoun, passed away Saturday morning March 19th in the Hamilton Medical Center.
Bobbie was born in July 3, 1924 in Murray County, daughter of the late Elmer Chambers and Mamie McGee Chambers. She was member of the Calhoun First Methodist Church and the Suzanna Wesley Sunday School Class. She was a secretary for Lacy Mills prior to her retirement. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Seth William Whittemore, a brother; George Chambers, a sister; Lois Lacey, and a son in law; Jimmy Edgar.
Survivors include two daughters; Cyle Edgar of Myrtle Beach, SC and Leigh Hall and her husband Chris of Dalton. Four grandchildren; Christa Pirozzi and her husband Donne, Lisa Whaley and her husband Keith, Seth Edgar and Kristina Edgar, four great-grandchildren; Cole Laubscher, Luci Whaley, Emilia Pirozzi and Dani Edgar. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday March 21st at 1pm from the Calhoun First United Methodist Church with Dr. Eddie Herring officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include; Stanley Chambers, Robert Chambers, Lamar Johnson, Donnie Pirozzi, Keith Whaley, and Kelly Lacey.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening at the funeral home from 4 until 6pm.
