Mrs. Robbie Seritt Brown, age 83 of the Sugar Valley Community died Wednesday evening in Gordon Hospital following a two-week illness.
Robbie was born in Gordon County on June 21, 1926 daughter of the late James Robert (JR) Seritt and Lizzie Enlow Seritt and had been a lifelong resident. She was a member of the Sugar Valley Church of God, the Sugar Valley Community Club and the Sugar Valley Prayer Club. She was employed by O.J. Mills for over 35 years prior to her retirement. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, L. W. (Jerry) Brown Sr, a son; Samuel D. Brown, a daughter; Patricia Jane Brown, a great-grandson; Bryson Youman, brothers and sisters; Tab Seritt, Judson Seritt, Dorothy Brumlow, Aline Seritt, Ceily Cochran, Hazel Wester, and Dewitt Seritt.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law; Wayne and Louise Brown of Sugar Valley, a brother; Jack Seritt of Dalton, a sister; Ruth Baker of Calhoun, seven grandchildren; Michael and Tonya Brown, Patricia Bennett, Samuel H. Brown, Autumn Brown, Sarah Johnson, and Robin Henderson and 15 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday December 18th. From the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Dwaine Shadix and Rev. Howard Duvall officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery with Rev. Gary Bowman in charge of the Graveside Services.
The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday Dec. 17th.

Pallbearers serving include Jerry Davis, Charles Baker, Michael, Samuel, Blake and Michael Brown Jr. and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1: 45 P.M. Friday. Honorary Escorts will include members of the Sugar Valley Prayer Club.
