Kay Chitwood Fowler, age 74 of Calhoun, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.
Kay was born on January 5, 1948, to the late E.W. Chitwood, and Lilla Young Chitwood in Gordon County. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Dora Zimmerman; four sisters, Ann Hall, Connie Chitwood, Debbie Chitwood, and Carol Bostick; two sisters-in-law, Linda Tiner and Doris Fowler; three brothers-in-law, Howard “Shot” Stafford, James “Jim” Folwer, and Tom Tiner; granddaughter, Camryn Pass; and special girl, Jennifer Poarch.
Kay is survived by: her husband of 54 years David Fowler; daughter and son-in-law, Paige and Keith Stanfield; two sisters-in-law, Jean Stafford and Kristie Fowler; brother-in-law, Fred Hall; nieces and nephews, Eddie and Ashli Hall, Chuck Hall, Maryann Farrah, Hampton Sanford, Merri and Larry Davidson, Mark Fowler, Melynda Fowler, Tommy and Candice Tiner, Billy and Colleen Tiner, Mike and Amy Stafford, and Donna and Charles Hawkins; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; hand chosen sons and daughters, Toni Bostick, Lisa O’Dell, Greg and Cherri Dodd, Tim and Cindy Jenkins, Toby and Davina Pass, and Tara and Michael Zapp, along with so many others that she loved as her own; her beloved grands, Kaila Bostick, Kennedi Ntuli, Eathon Dodd, Camran Dodd, Olivia Dodd, Gregory and Shannon Dodd, Emily and Justin Young, Matthew and Paige Stanfield, Wyatt Stanfield, Cortney and Weston Penny, JD Zapp, Abigale McDaniel, Oaklen McDaniel, Arley McDaniel, and so many others she loved; special friends, Denise and Dwight Goodman, Marlene and Jerry Cooper, Martha Ann Keller, Ken and Sandy Tally, Linda Babb, and numerous others. Kay was most known for her love of her family and once she loved you that made you family forever.
A Celebration of the Life of Kay Chitwood Fowler will be conducted on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 4 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Willard officiating.
The family will receive friends on June 20, 2022 from 3 PM until the funeral hour at 4 PM and also an hour after the service at Thomas Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Kay may be made to the Elks Aidmore and donations should be mailed to the Calhoun Elks Lodge, 143 Craigtown Road, Calhoun, GA 30701.
