Ricky Lee DeLong

Ricky Lee DeLong, age 67 of Fairmount, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at his residence. Ricky was born on November 23, 1951 in Roswell, GA to the late James Howard DeLong and Mary Lou Scoggins DeLong. In addition to his parents, Ricky was also preceded in death by: a brother, Jimmy DeLong; and a sister, Mary Nell DeLong. Ricky grew up and spent most of his life in Cobb County and moved in 2004 to Gordon County. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Ricky is survived by: his son, Richie DeLong and his wife Chris; two daughters, Melissa Wolf and her husband Justin, and Angela “Angie” Matthews; two brothers, Ronnie DeLong and his wife Nancy, and Charles Gleeson and his wife Linda; two sisters, Elizabeth Powell, and Ada Belden and her husband Glenn; and seven grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, March 8th at 1 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Steven Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are: Brice DeLong, David Locke, Tony Holbrook, Maurice Jones, Preston Aker, and Herman Roark.
