Rickie Rogers Smith, age 65 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020.
Rickie was born on June 27, 1955 in Gordon County, GA to the late Jimmy Roy Rogers, JR and Nellie Virginia “Jean” Thomas Rogers. In addition to her parents, Rickie was also preceded in death by: her brother, Sammy Joe Rogers; and a brother-in-law, Charles Young. Rickie was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and was a member of Curryville Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Calhoun High School with the Class of 1973. Prior to retirement, Rickie was employed by Echota Fabrics.
Rickie is survived by: her husband, Doug Smith; daughter, Heather Smith Redd and her husband Russell; one granddaughter, Katelyn Redd; three sisters, Sandra Rogers Tinney and her husband Edward, Lucricia Rogers Young, and Tonya Rogers Payne and her husband Jeff; brother-in-law, David Smith and his wife Nancy; and sister-in-law, Denise Stansell and her husband Johnny. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 15th from 5 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, August 16th at 3 PM at Curryville Baptist Church with Reverend Clifford Free, Reverend Lamar Long, and Reverend Marvin Glass officiating. Interment will follow in Blackwood Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include: Brandon Rogers, Chris Delp, Rich Bowles, Howard Dailey, Jared Crocker, Michael Lee Stancil, Tracy Pope, and Clinton Rogers.
