Saturday, September 06, 2008 Mr. Richard Owen, age 69, of Adair Street. Died Friday morning September 5th in Gordon Hospital. Following several months of declining health. Richard was born in Gordon County January 1, 1939. Son of the late Hulon Logan and Lois Beatrice Pendley Owen. He was a well known body man who worked for Services Chevrolet and Prater Ford. He attended East Calhoun Church of God and was preceded in death by a brother George W. Owen as well as many close friends. He is survived by his best friend and companion Teresa Hawkins of Calhoun. Friend, Adam Patterson of Calhoun. Two nephews, Bill Owen of Florida and Jim Owen of Cartersville. One niece, Susan Dodd of Cartersville. Graveside rites will be conducted Sunday September 7th at 3pm in Fain Cemetery. With Bro. Keith Reid and Bro. Tim Reid officiating. Pallbearers serving include Charley Allen, Tom Owens, Jimmy Payne, Gerald Murphy, Ronnie Rogers, Adam Patterson, David Robinson, and Anthony Moore. Family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8pm.
