Richard McMillan, age 73, of Calhoun, passed away Friday evening March 22nd in Gordon Hospital.
Richard was born June 23, 1939 in Bartow County, son of the late Lonzo McMillan and Leo Marsingale McMillan, he was employed by General Motors until his retirement in 1982, Richard was a member of the Sonora Masonic #221 for more than 50 years, besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters; Virginia Raines and Vivian Hale, three brothers; Bob, Murray, and Glenn McMillan.
Survivors include his wife, Mary McMillan of Calhoun, two daughters; Dina Ferguson McMillan of Calhoun and Karen McMillan Cole and her husband Jeff of Bunt Hickory, two brothers; Gerald McMillan and his wife Jewell of Kennesaw and Charlie McMillan and his wife Marvine of Powder Springs, a special granddaughter, Chole Cole also survives.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday March 25th at 2pm from the White United Methodist Church with Rev. Harvey Nath Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are ask to meet at the church Monday at 12:45 and include, Michael McMillan, Billy Hale, Jimmy Hale, Allen McMillan, Marty Siniard, and Phillip Henson.
The family will receive friends Sunday March 24th from 3 until 7pm at the funeral home. Richard will be taken to the church Monday to lie in state from 1pm until the funeral hour.
