Richard Eugene Davis, age 64, of Cartersville passed away Sunday October 8th in the Cartersville Medical Center.
Richard was born July 23, 1953 in Detroit, MI., son of Mary Young Davis and the late Robert Eugene Davis. He was a former resident of Gordon County and attended Belwood Elementary School. Richard was a disabled veteran of the United States Army, a member of the Crane Eater Community Church and an accomplished guitarist who loved music. He was known for his outgoing personality and good sense of humor.
Besides his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Aulsey and Beatrice Young.
Survivors include his mother; Mary Young Davis of Calhoun, two daughters; Leigh Davis of Perry and Lauren Davis of Thomaston, one brother; Roger Davis and his wife Teresa Davis of Cartersville, one sister; Jenny Strickland and her husband Rev. Howard Strickland of Calhoun. Three Grandchildren; Kyndelle Davis, Jackson Luke Churchwell, and Kaelan Lanier Davis also survive.
Services to celebrate the life of Richard Eugene Davis will be conducted Thursday October 12th at 2pm from the Crane Eater Community Church with Rev. Howard Strickland officiating. Entombment in the National Cemetery in Canton will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends after the service at Crane Eater Community Church.
