Retha Poarch

Sunday, March 29, 2009 Mrs. Retha Pritchard Poarch, age 79, of Calhoun, passed away March 29th. 2009 in Gordon Hospital following a short illness. She was born in Fannin County, Ga. on Dec. 13, 1929 daughter of the late Wilson and Sarah Davenport Foster, but had resided in Calhoun for 53 years. She was a long time member of the Belmont Baptist Church and worked in Customer Service at Mannington and Regent Mills. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Pritchard to whom she was married 28 years. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Samuel D. Poarch of Calhoun; a son and daughter-in-law; Scott and Susan Pritchard of Marietta, a daughter and son-in-law; Sharon and Steve Powell of Calhoun, Step-Children; Sandra Arp of Dalton, Bill Poarch of Dalton, and David Poarch of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren are Natalie Coombe of Calhoun, Nathan Powell of Arlington, Virginia, and Tristan Prichard of Buchannan, Georgia, Nicole Pritchard, Mackinley Pritchard, and Kaitlyn Pritchard of Dallas, Georgia; great-grandchildren ;Cate and Steven Powell of Arlington, Virginia;. brothers and sisters; Claude Foster, Lonis Foster, Ira Foster, Johnson Foster, Zona Waters, Elizabeth Whiteside, Iva Lee Baker and Deverda Pharr. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M Monday March 30 from the Belmont Baptist Church with Dr. John Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery with Reverend Jeff Hawkins in charge of graveside services. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. Sunday.
