Ret. SFC John Brock Fitch

Thursday, August 21, 2008 Retired SFC John Brock Fitch, age 71 of 129 Stonehaven Drive, Calhoun, died Wednesday August 20th. in the Heartland Hospice in Cartersville following several weeks of declining health. John was born in New Castle, Pa., on May 10, 1937 son of the late Kenneth Rainey Fitch and Mary Rebecca McCormick Fitch and had lived in Calhoun for the past 32 years. He was retired from the U.S. Army with 21 years service, was a Vietnam Veteran , had was retired at Fafnir / Torrington and had worked at Walmart. Survivors include his wife Judi Bradford Fitch of Calhoun, two sons; Ken Fitch and his wife Christy of Calhoun and Brad Fitch and his wife Kristy also of Calhoun, one daughter; Teri McEntyre of Chattanooga, Tn, and a sister; Helen R. Poole of Clyde, North Carolina,one sister-in-law; Elaine Anderson and her husband Dave of Lakeland, Fla. five grandchildren; Whitney McEntyre of Greenville, S.C., Raleigh, Rainey, and Chloe Fitch and Dylan Terry all of Calhoun. Several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. Friday August 22st. from the Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tn. with Full Military Rites. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. today (Thursday) .
