Mrs. Rena Cora Hebert, age 80, of Calhoun, passed away Saturday August 24th at her residence.
Rena was born March 8, 1933 in Madawaska, Maine, grew up in St. Agatha, Maine and spent most of her life in New Britain CT. before moving to Calhoun two years ago. She was the daughter of the late Donat Gervais and Catherine DuFour Gervais. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church. Rena’s passion was serving others and doing crafts but her life revolved around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Hebert in July of last year, and her three sisters, Orilla Belanger, Jeanette LeVesque, and Loretta Beaulieu.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Mowry and her husband Michael of Calhoun, three grandchildren, James (J.P.) Podbielski, Jennifer Weaver and her husband Lee, and Michelle Gallman and her husband Zach, five great-grandchildren and one sister, Theresa Collins of Plainville, CT. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
A Funeral Mass will be conducted Tuesday August 27th at 9am from the St. Clement’s Catholic Church with Father Joseph Shaute officiating. Burial will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery on Thursday August 29th at 11am.
The family will receive friends Monday August 26th from 6 until 7pm at the funeral home.
