Rembert was a gentle, contented, helpful soul. He will be my standard to rise to when it comes to caring for my spouse someday. Soft spoken, smiling. Generous in sharing from his garden. Biggest thing we had in common was our love for music. It fed our hearts. However he could make music, I could only listen to music. One time I just had to share some of my favorite songs with him when I found out he had a CD player. I eventually asked him if he liked it, as I was finishing up a h.h. aid visit with Ann. He him-hawed around and said, yes it was ok :) But we both truly enjoyed his amazing guitar music. When he played, you immediately felt happier than you were before. I brought several people to his home to get a dose of his guitar cheer.
How honored I felt as the years came and went, and he faithfully called to talk for a few minutes, weekly. What did I do to receive his sweet friendship? Nothing.
It's just that God used Rembert to smile upon me. What a blessing. Thank you, Lord. And thank you to Rembert,. as well as his kind-hearted family.
I miss him.
