Raymond Boyc Swanson

Monday, October 06, 2008 Mr. Raymond Boyd Swanson, age 92, of Marietta and formerly of Gordon County. Died Monday morning October 6 at his daughter’s residence. Boyd was born in Gordon County, October 15, 1915. Son of the late John Sherman and Amanda McFee Swanson. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Ranger and was a well-known postal carrier and farmer in the Ranger community. His wife Edith Horton Swanson preceded Boyd in death in November 2001. Survivors include his daughter; Joyce Swanson Cronon of Marietta. Two grandsons; Maxwell Billy Cronon, Jr. and his wife Janet of Charlotte, NC., and Lee Cronon and his wife Lisa of Dallas, Georgia. Five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday October 8th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Tim East and Rev. William Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 2-5 and 6-9pm.
