Ray Griffith

Norman “Ray” Griffith, age 82, of Resaca, passed away Saturday morning October 29^th, at his residence.

Ray was born May 21, 1940, in Calhoun, son of the late Kenneth Starling Griffith and Martha Corine Chitwood Griffith Brock. Ray was an outdoorsman who loved to fish. Prior to his retirement he was employed by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He will always be remembered as a fair and honest man who was a friend to everyone who knew him.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Don Griffith and his stepfather, J.D. Brock.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Salyers Griffith of Resaca, his children, Wendy Lott and her husband Bernie of Calhoun and Kendall Ward and his wife Tammy of Nora, Va. Two brothers, Kenneth “Ken” Griffith of Resaca and Jerry Griffith and his wife Lavonne of Blue Ridge; one sister, Betty Ann Jones of Resaca, ten grandchildren, Taylor, Haley, Abbey, Logan, Nick, Zack, Braylon, Brittney, Clay, and Zack. Two brothers-in-law, Park Salyers, and Roger Salyers and his wife Paula both of Coeburn, Va., two sisters-in-law, Anita McCoy and her husband Larry of Coeburn, Va., and Faye Griffiths of LaGrange also survive.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 2 PM until 3 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 3 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home.
