Ray Ernest Duncan

 Ray Ernest Duncan, age 80 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at his residence.

Ray was born on July 24, 1942 in Murray County, GA, son of the late Irene Dixon Fite. In addition to his mother, Ray was also preceded in death by his step-father, Claude Fite. He was a graduate of Red Bud High School where he was an avid baseball player. After high school he was drafted by the Dodgers and later went to play for the minor leagues briefly. Ray was an entrepreneur of the rug business running Arrow Mills for many years.

Ray is survived by: his three sons, Randy Duncan, Curt Duncan and his wife Joanna andd Streater Duncan; one brother, C.W. Duncan and his wife Frances of Birmingham, AL; one sister, Elizabeth Fite of Huntington Beach, CA; five grandchildren, Catherine Duncan, Julia Duncan, William Duncan, Riggs Duncan, and Christina Duncan Lothamer and her husband Doug; and two great-grandchildren, Brielle Lothamer and Isaiah Lothamer.

A celebration of the life of Ray will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at 3 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Hall officiating. Billy Weaver, Darlene Wright and Carla Rogers will have charge of music.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 1 PM until the service hour at 3 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
