Randy Lynn Gilbert

Randy Lynn Gilbert, age 44 of Calhoun, GA, passed away Wednesday January 20, 2021 at his home following an extended illness. Randy was born February 25, 1976 in Whitfield County, son of the late Roger Bruce Gilbert and Joann Holden Pitts. In addition to his parents, Randy was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Brenda Gilbert. Randy loved to smoke meat or BBQ, the outdoors, fishing, and especially spending time with his family. Randy is survived by: two sons, Robert Gilbert and his wife Jordon and Dustin Gilbert and his wife Breanna; daughter, Haven Gilbert and her wife Mysty; step-father, Ronny Pitts; grandson, Preston Hinkle; four brothers, Timmie Holden, Roger Gilbert, Jimmy Gilbert, and Gary Gilbert; two sisters, Pamela Hogston and her husband Richard, and Ann Robinson; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Due to the ongoing national health crisis, face coverings must be properly worn by all those who plan to attend. Social distancing guidelines must be followed at all times while attending the service. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 24th from 1 PM until the funeral hour at 3 PM at Thomas Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, January 24th at 3 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include: Allen Byars, Timmie Holden, Richard Hogston, Jim Stevens, Chris Summers, and Dennis Nesbitt. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to Thomas Funeral Home towards final expenses.
