Ralph Lamar Shugart

Ralph Lamar Shugart, age 68 of Resaca, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at his residence. Ralph was born on August 1, 1945 in Charleston, SC to the late Ralph B. Shugart and Jennie M. Everett Shugart. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army. He was of the Baptist faith and was a talented songwriter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Doyle Shugart and great-nephew, Zach Talley. He is survived by a brother, Herman Shugart and his wife Linda of Stone Mountain, GA; sister, Vivian Shugart of Calhoun; sister-in-law, Maudann Shugart of Atlanta; nieces, Kristie Holcomb of Calhoun, Cindy Talley of Calhoun, Donna Shugart of Dacula, GA, Kim Bailey of Conyers, GA and Donna Bethune; nephews, Keith Shugart of Dacula, GA and Kyle Shugart of Atlanta; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, January 4th at 1:00pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend David Ray and Ronnie Everett officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 3rd from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Thomas Funeral Home. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jase Holcomb, Jason Holcomb, Mitch Talley, Jason Curtis, Keith Shugart, Kyle Shugart, Drake Talley, Christopher Talley and Jack Talley.
